What is bPOWERd and how does it work?
Our battery rental service allows you to rent portable batteries to power or charge your devices on the go. We are currently offering two battery sizes; a small (300Wh) and large (1000W). To use this service simple head to your nearest bp convenience store and:
- Rent the battery size of your choosing
- Take it home and use it to power your devices
- Return the battery to the same bp store
What type of batteries are they?
Lithium ion
Can I charge the battery at home?
No, you cannot charge the battery at home. Attempting to disassemble, modify, or open the battery is dangerous and is in violation of the terms and conditions of our service.
How do I know if the battery is on?
To turn on the battery, press the power button for 3 seconds. Once the battery is on, press the LED button to turn on the LED display which will show the available charge.

It can power multiple devices simultaneously, however, we recommend not using more than three devices at once.
What appliances should I not use the battery with?
Do not use devices with high power demand, including:
- Microwaves
- Blenders
- Portable heaters
- Hair dryers
These devices typically require more power than the battery can provide.
How long does the battery last?
Battery discharge time is dependent on the device’s power demand, so actual times of full discharges will vary. However, we suggest using the following formulas:
bPOWERd 300 (300wH)
- DC powered devices: 300Wh x 0.90/rated power of the device (W)
- AC powered devices: 307.2Wh x 0.85/rated power of the device (W)
bPOWERd 1000 (1000wH)
- DC powered devices: 974.4Wh x 0.90/rated power of the device (W)
- AC powered devices: 974.4Wh x 0.85/rated power of the device (W)
What safety precautions should I take while using the batteries?
- Do not expose the batteries to extreme temperatures (below -50C and above 45C)
- Use devices within the battery's power range
- Do not attempt to open, modify, or repair the batteries
- Keep the batteries away from water and other liquids to prevent damage and/or risk of electrocution
- Keep the batteries out of reach of young children to prevent injury
What should I do in case of any issues with the rented battery?
