As part of the services we provide bp will process the following personal information about you:

  • Basic personal details such as your name and DOB;
  • Your telephone number, postal, and email address;
  • Financial data such as payment related information or bank account details;
  • Demographic data such as your preferences or interests;
  • Pictures or scans of your identity documents, including but not limited to government-issued identification cards, passports, and driver's licenses.

We use the information we collect from you in order to:

  1. perform the contract we have with you for the provision of our services. This contract is governed by our Terms and Conditions which can be found here [hyperlink where possible];
  2. to send you emails or text messages that are directly related to your rental, booking purchase experience;
  3. to verify your identity to facilitate enforcement of terms and conditions;
  4. contact you with information on additional products and/or services which bp reasonably thinks may be of interest to you;
  5. improve the quality, content and relevance of our communications (where you have subscribed to receive our communications) by following your interactions with that communication, such as whether you receive, open or click on a link within an email communication.
  6. to respond to your inquiries, provide customer support, address technical issues, troubleshoot problems, and resolve disputes.

3. Legal basis/legitimate reason for processing person information

  • Your personal information will only be collected and used if and to the extent [you have actively consented to/necessary for bp to comply with the legal obligations we are subject to]. You can withdraw your consent/unsubscribe at any time by contacting support@bpowerd.com.
  • Bp will process your personal information for the purposes stated above for legitimate business reasons. This legitimate interest consists in [keeping our information secure/ensuring our staff is adequately trained/optimizing our processes] which we believe it is strong enough to outweigh individuals’ right to privacy.

4. The recipient (or categories of recipients) of the personal information

Any transfer of personal information to this site will be secured by encryption. We use the services of third-party service providers to host our services, store data, and send emails and text messages. Any third-party provider we appoint must act in accordance with our written instructions when processing your personal information and must protect your personal information in line with the contractually required security measures.

We reserve the right to disclose your personal information as required by law, or when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and / or comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, request from a regulator or any other legal process served on bp.

In the event that bp is subject to a takeover, divestment or acquisition we may disclose your personal information to the new owner of the business.

5. bp’s intention to transfer personal information to third countries

As an international company, we may store or transfer your personal information to other bp entities around the world. Where this is the case, we do this under a comprehensive, flexible, and global compliance framework which implements appropriate measures and safeguards (including EU standard contractual clauses) to ensure that your personal information is protected in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Similarly, where a third party service provider processes personal information on our behalf in a third country, we will ensure that appropriate measures are in place to ensure an adequate level of protection for your personal information, such as by including appropriate standard contractual clauses in our agreements with third party service providers. You can request to see a copy of these clauses by contacting privacy3@bp.com.

6. Retention period, or alternatively, the criteria used to determine that period

We will only hold your information for at least 12 months from the time it was collected before making it non-identifiable or deleting it.

If you choose to unsubscribe from a service, we may keep a ‘suppression list’ containing your details so we know you have unsubscribed.

User accounts / profiles (and associated personal information) which haven't been used for 12 months, will be automatically deleted.

In the event of breaches of terms and conditions obligations, we may continue to retain your personal information for an additional 12 months. This extended retention period allows us to effectively address any potential disputes, enforce contractual terms, and protect our rights and interests.

7. Individuals’ rights (access, rectification, erasure)

Please note that regarding your personal information which bp processes, you are entitled to:

  • access and review a copy of your personal information;
  • have incomplete or inaccurate personal information which relate to you corrected;
  • ask for deletion of your personal information, where it is being processed unlawfully;
  • object (i.e. ask bp to stop processing your personal information to profile you or send you direct marketing materials).
  • be provided with an electronic, re-usable copy of your personal information where bp’s processing is based on your consent, or where the processing is necessary for the performance of a contract between bp and you.

If you have any questions regarding the way your data is being processed, if you wish to exercise one of your rights, or for any other data privacy issues, please contact: support@bpowerd.com. Your exercise of these rights may be subject to certain exemptions. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection supervisory authority.

8. Third-party websites we link to

Our website may contain links to content or other functionality provided by third parties which are outside our control and are not covered by our privacy statement. These other websites using links embedded functionality may be provided by third parties and be subject to their own privacy statement, which may differ from ours. We encourage you to read those providers’ privacy statements on their websites as we cannot accept any responsibility or liability for these policies.

9. Changes to this privacy statement

This privacy statement became effective on March 2024 and was last review in 03/2024.
